Healthy Fall Snack Ideas

In a season of candy, try queuing up healthier treats for your household.

Since nutrition is all about balance, think about recipes that are healthful, filling, and yes – still fun! Our team brainstormed some of our families’ favorites:

  • Bake Homemade Granola. Get creative! You can incorporate a handful of dark chocolate chips or candies, but focus on adding more dried fruits, nuts, chia seeds to your oat mixture. Try using honey or agave nectar as the sweetener and only a small amount of healthy coconut oil for toasting the granola.
  • Serve Up Ghoulishly Green Guacamole. Avocados are full of heart-healthy fats and fiber. Add plenty of cilantro and lime to keep it that monster green hue and incorporate healthful dippers like carrot sticks, cucumber slices, and red pepper strips along with baked tortilla chips.
  • Make Homemade Pumpkin Muffins. Pumpkin is high in vitamins A and C, which can help boost your immune system. Look for recipes that will incorporate nonfat plain yogurt and use less oil/butter to keep them tender and tasty. Add raisins and nuts for another delicious and nutritious boost.
  • Make Healthy Hot Chocolate. As the weather cools, the kids will delight is a warm bedtime treat of healthier hot chocolate. Whisk it up stovetop using almond or oat milk, organic dark cocoa powder, and sweeten with maple syrup.
