IV Therapy: What to Expect

A patient’s perspective

We strongly encourage trying our IV Infusions as they are widely beneficial in a number of ways and the best way to deliver vitamins and nutrients directly to the bloodstream. Local writer, Sarah Murphy Robertson, had her first treatment with us this week and detailed in this blog what you can expect:

Well I’ve had the pleasure to visit Foundations Medical Center’s office several times, but I had never experienced an IV Vitamin Treatment.

After a warm greeting and filling out a brief medical history, I was welcomed into their treatment room. The space is bright and lovely with three reclining chairs, comfy pillows, and even the option for your own blanket should you get chilly. It’s a beautiful, calming, and spa-like room.

I sat for a few minutes discussing with the registered nurse which IV would be best for me. She is happy to go through their “menu” with clients and is well-versed on all treatments and their benefits. I am a regular runner, but I also spend a lot of time at my computer, aaaaand admittedly I don’t always practice the best ergonomics and posture. Recently this has resulted in sore neck and shoulder muscles, so I chose the Athlete IV treatment to “achieve and recharge” and target that issue.

The Athlete IV relaxes muscles, restores hydration and replenishes electrolytes, flushes out lactic acid and toxins, and relieves soreness. Um, yep, sign me up!

So you may wonder if the IV process hurts. Don’t sweat it at all. It is nearly painless – just that tiny bee sting feeling similar to getting lab work drawn.

So you may wonder if the IV process hurts. Don’t sweat it at all. It is nearly painless – just that tiny bee sting feeling similar to getting lab work drawn. In seconds that part is over and you’re on your way to being renewed, rehydrated, and relaxed.

The IV drip itself takes about 45 to 60 minutes, so allow yourself a bit over an hour for your entire time at Foundations. They also recommend guests eat a little something beforehand. While you are there you can choose to read a book, watch TV, or close your eyes. (I took the rare midday opportunity to just close my eyes!) After you are done, you can resume your day as usual.

Honestly I wasn’t expecting immediate results. I was prepared to talk to you guys about the process itself and the Foundations medical staff and services with confidence that at a cellular level all kinds of good stuff was happening. But when I got to my car and reached for my seatbelt, my neck and shoulder weren’t tight and aching! Personally, I quickly felt the benefits from my treatment, and that was really impressive.

As I mentioned, there are many treatments to choose from. If you are looking for an immunity boost to prevent or recover from being sick, their Immune IV is a great choice, especially this time of year. But you can also pick your formulation to focus on more beautiful skin and nails, increased energy, jumpstarting a weight loss plateau, migraine relief, or overall body detoxification.

Oh and here’s my insider tip: during the month of February, try their Calm IV treatment plus an infrared sauna session for just $150. This formulation works to reduce stress and anxiety in the mind and the body. In our nonstop, busy world, that’s a win-win! But rest assured, no matter what therapy you choose, the Foundations team is kind, knowledgeable, and will guide you through the process.

We’re so pleased Sarah shared her experience and results. As always, if you have any questions, please reach out to our team. We are always happy to help you choose an IV therapy tailored especially for you and your health goals.
