Try using natural ingredients for everyday household cleaning purposes
Commercial cleaning products contain toxic chemicals. Many are made with components that easily trigger asthma and allergies, can cause endocrine disruption, antibiotic resistance, and even skin irritations. You don’t need powerful disinfectants for all your everyday household cleaning. Keep these on hand to make many natural cleansers at home: lemons, white vinegar, coarse salt, baking soda, and hydrogen peroxide.
A few “recipes” for cleaners using natural ingredients:
- Glass cleaner – Combine equal parts white vinegar and water in a spray bottle. It’s that simple!
- Grout or bathroom scrub – Combine one part water to three parts baking soda and mix into a paste.
- Kitchen scrub – use coarse salt mixed with a little lemon juice as a stain-removing scrub. This works well on stained coffee pots or mugs and wooden cutting boards.
